2. Pangong Tso Lake, Ladakh

Merely a 5-hour drive from Leh will get you to this wonderful location where the ‘long, narrow enchanted lake’ , commonly referred to as Pangong Tso Lake, lies at a height of 4350m. It’s only the fourth highest lake in Ladakh.

Another less-explored but picturesque lake destinations in Ladakh is the Tso Moriri Lake, situated in Changthang area at a height of 4595 m. It’s the second highest lake in all of Ladakh.

4. Tso Kar Lake, Ladakh

Located nearly 130 km from Sanchu, Tso Kar Lake is the highest lake in Ladakh, and offers a great view to make your camping overnight the most wonderful experience. It lies at an altitude of 4620 m.

5. Vasuki Tal, Uttarakhand

The pristine lake attracts many pilgrims and trekkers alike. The lake is considered sacred because of an ancient mythical story associated with that place. It lies 8 kms from Kedarnath temple in Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, and is situated at an altitude of 4730 m.

6. Roopkund Lake, Uttarakhand

Another one of the lakes in Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand is located at a height of 5029 m and is known as Roopkund. It is situated in Chamoli district and is surrounded by mystery as hundreds of skeletons were once found at the edge of the lake. The area is mostly uninhabited and offers an off-beat location for trekkers and adventure enthusiasts to explore.

7. Gurudongmar Lake, Sikkim

Sikkim is a paradise for nature lovers. It’s lit up with warm but vivid colors, and offers a great many lakes for trekkers to explore. Gurudongmar Lake is situated at a height of 5243 m above the ground and is located in Lachen, a small village in North Sikkim.
