Scarlett Johansson Plays a Superhuman in her Upcoming Flick ‘Lucy’

Lucy’s first trailer came out at the beginning of April this year. The movie is scheduled to be released in India on August 8, 2014. It is a fast paced sci-fi thriller packed with a lot of action, featuring Scarlett Johansson as a drug mule named Lucy and Morgan Freeman as a researcher and professor, referred in the film as Professor Norman.

Written and directed by the French filmmaker Luc Besson, Lucy seems to be another one of Scarlett Johansson’s experimental adventures, where she plays a drug mule caught in a drug racket under the hold of Chinese mafia. She is forcefully asked to carry an illegal substance from Taiwan to somewhere in the US. The drug to be delivered is surgically placed inside her body, which accidentally starts leaking after her violent encounter with a man within the drug mafia. The substance that curiously enters her bloodstream enables her to attain superhuman tendencies, which leads to the unlocking of certain dormant areas of her brain, turning her into a telekinetic superhuman being.

The idea is somewhat similar to the film Limitless that featured Bradley Cooper as the superhuman with an unbelievably high brain capacity as induced by the special pill. Nonetheless, there’s a lot to be expected out of the upcoming flick by the French filmmaker who has casted the two most incredible actors of all time in his movie.
